In an exclusive interview with Good Morning America today, Jana Kramer, country music sensation / "Dancing with the Stars" contender, publicly opened up about how she's stepping forward into a very hopeful future following the highly abusive marriage that almost took her life, including her desire to empower abused women experiencing similar in their lives. Her hair raising account of hiding in the bushes while praying for help is not necessarily unlike stories that many survivors of domestic violence share. She tells this story and others with a tearful poignancy not arising from victimhood, but from her realization that her Life was being stolen and she needed to seek safety and remedy her situation. Her abuser was eventually convicted and imprisoned, but released over time, thus adding unending stress to Jana's life. (He eventually committed suicide.)
